A Memorable Qur’anic Honor During the 1980s, Qari Abdul Mannan had the honor of reciting on the same stage as the world-renowned Qur’an reciter Qari Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad during his visit to Pakistan and tour of the city of Multan. In the 1990s, Qari Abdul Mannan immigrated to the United States and began serving the Muslim community of Chicagoland as an Imam, Khateeb, Qur’an teacher, scholar, and mentor. Through teaching, leading prayers, delivering sermons, advising families, and mentoring students, he became a trusted source of knowledge and guidance for individuals throughout the region. Established in 2002 Qari Abdul Mannan founded Suffah Educational Guidance to preserve, teach, and transmit Islamic knowledge to future generations. 01 Establishing structured Qur’an reading, Hifz, Tajwid, revision, and assessment for generations of students. 02 Developing programs through which students can study Arabic, Hadith, Fiqh, Tafsir, Aqidah, and the traditional Islamic sciences. 03 Mentoring students to develop sincerity, discipline, humility, sound knowledge, and a commitment to serving the Muslim community. Jamia Suffah Alumnus During his years at Jamia Suffah, he studied Hadith, Fiqh, Tafsir, Arabic grammar, Arabic morphology, theology, Qur’anic sciences, and other foundational disciplines of Islamic scholarship. He studied under senior scholars including Qari Abdul Mannan and Mufti Abdul Sattar Patel and successfully graduated from the Jamia Suffah ʿĀlimiyyah Program in 2024. Karachi, Pakistan To further strengthen his scholarly foundation, Mawlana Bashar traveled to Pakistan and repeated his Dawrah Hadith at Jamia al-Uloom al-Islamiyyah, Binnori Town. At Binnori Town, he studied the major collections of Hadith and benefited from the seminary’s scholarly environment, advanced instruction, and emphasis on the Prophetic tradition. Repeating Dawrah Hadith allowed him to strengthen his understanding of Hadith commentary, legal interpretation, scholarly methodology, and the relationship between Hadith and the broader Islamic sciences. During his advanced studies in Karachi, Mawlana Bashar benefited from respected scholars of Hadith and the traditional Islamic sciences. He also studied under other respected teachers of Hadith and the Islamic sciences during his time at Binnori Town. From a young age, he participated actively in the work of Da’wah and Tabligh. These experiences strengthened his concern for the spiritual development of Muslims and inspired him to dedicate his life to Islamic knowledge, teaching, and service. At Darul Uloom Zakariyyah, Mawlana Yasir pursued the traditional ʿĀlimiyyah curriculum, studying Qur’anic sciences, Hadith, Fiqh, Tafsir, Arabic grammar, Arabic morphology, Islamic theology, legal theory, and other classical disciplines.
