To preserve the future of Islam, we must begin with the hearts and minds of our youth. Jamia Suffah’s After-School Maktab is designed to nurture practicing, religiously conscious Muslim children through a balanced program of Qur’an, daily Islamic essentials, and Prophetic character.
Our goal is to provide the children of our community with wholesome Islamic education in a caring and structured environment.

Program Overview
The Suffah After-School Maktab provides students with a structured path to learn Qur’an reading, daily Islamic knowledge, and practical Islamic manners.
Alongside Nazirah Qur’an reading, students study one essential Islamic subject each day, allowing them to build a strong foundation in knowledge, worship, character, and daily practice.
Program Focus
The Maktab focuses on Qur’an reading, daily essentials, and Prophetic tarbiyah in a caring Islamic environment.
Nazirah Qur’an Reading
Students learn to recite the Qur’an with proper tajwīd, fluency, and correct pronunciation. The goal is to help every student develop confidence and love for the Book of Allah.
Daily Islamic Essentials
Alongside Qur’an reading, students study one essential Islamic subject each day. These subjects give students the knowledge and habits they need to live as practicing Muslims.
Prophetic Character
Students are encouraged to embody the beautiful character of our beloved Prophet ﷺ through respect, kindness, honesty, humility, and responsibility.
Tarbiyah & Muslim Identity
The Maktab places strong emphasis on Islamic tarbiyah, helping students grow with love for the Qur’an, love for the Sunnah, and pride in their Muslim identity.
Daily Essential Subjects
Students are taught five core subjects throughout the week, with one essential subject taught each day.
Fiqh
Students learn practical rulings related to purification, ṣalāh, daily worship, and basic Islamic responsibilities.
Seerah
Students study the blessed life, character, and teachings of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
Akhlaaq
Students are taught good character, honesty, kindness, responsibility, respect, and how to treat others with Islamic manners.
Adab
Students learn proper manners with parents, teachers, classmates, the masjid, books, and the Qur’an.
Hadith & Duas
Students memorize selected hadith, daily duas, and essential supplications to practice in their daily lives.
